Modern Jazz

We will be spending a week examining Jazz soloing over chord changes in a Post-Bop context, using lightly arranged 'Heads' with chords provided in appropriate keys for Bb/Eb/Concert Pitch and Bass Clef. This year there will be a thematic thread, which will be the music of Bertolt Brecht and his collaborators (principally Kurt Weill and Hanns Eisler).

I am best known, to the extent that I am known at all, as a free improviser. If you are interested in this area, let me know, and we will try and organise some free playing in some other space in the timetable.
